How It Works
The Process
Simple steps.
No surprises.
What to Expect
Private pay is different.
Here is how.
You choose your schedule
Private pay is not constrained by insurance minimums or plan limits. You can start with a few hours a week and adjust as needs change — up or down, on a timeline that makes sense for your family.
Consistent rates, no hidden costs
Our rates are clear from the first conversation. We discuss scheduling, service scope, and costs openly — because your family should be able to plan with confidence, not be surprised by a bill.
One point of contact
You are never passed between departments. You have a consistent person to call with questions, updates, or concerns — someone who knows your family's situation and can respond directly.
Adjustable as needs evolve
Situations change — sometimes gradually, sometimes quickly. We stay in close contact with families and adjust care schedules and service types as your loved one's needs evolve over time.
Common Questions
Answers to the questions
families ask first
How is private-pay home care different from care covered by Medicare or insurance?
Medicare-covered home health care is tied to a physician's order and limited to medically necessary services over a defined period — typically after a hospitalization. Private-pay care is not subject to those constraints. You choose the schedule, the services, and the duration. It is care designed around what your family actually needs, not what an insurance plan is willing to fund.
How do you match a caregiver to my loved one?
We start by listening carefully in the initial consultation. We learn about your loved one's personality, daily routine, preferences, any specific conditions they are managing, and what has worked (or not) with previous care. We then identify caregivers from our network who fit both the clinical requirements and the personal compatibility factors. We present profiles and, when possible, arrange a meeting before care begins.
What happens if the assigned caregiver is not the right fit?
We take that seriously and address it quickly. If a match is not working — for any reason — we have an open, direct conversation with the family and begin identifying an alternative. We do not expect families to tolerate a poor fit, and we do not treat a caregiver change as a problem. Finding the right match is part of our job.
Can we start with a small number of hours and expand later?
Yes, and many families do. It is common to begin with a few hours of companion care or personal care a week and add hours as the relationship develops and needs evolve. We structure care to be flexible from the start.
What if my loved one's condition changes significantly?
We adjust with you. As needs increase or a health situation changes, we review the care plan together — adding hours, changing services, or, if necessary, helping coordinate a transition to a higher level of care. We stay in close communication throughout.
Do you work alongside home health nurses or other medical providers?
Yes. Our caregivers often work alongside home health nurses, physical therapists, and other clinical providers. We communicate proactively with medical teams where appropriate, and our caregivers are trained to observe and report changes in condition that may be clinically significant.
